Orillia parade goers, others help paramedics' toy drive start strong

Donations will continue to be accepted until Dec. 13; If you missed giving opportunity at Orillia's parade, West Street station will accept donations

County of Simcoe Paramedic Services kicked off the 17th annual Toy Drive on Nov. 13, 2019, so far collecting 425 toys, 50 pounds of food and almost $500 in cash and gift cards.

Many people stepped up to give during the Orillia Santa Claus Parade last Sunday.

The Toy Drive benefits local children and families during the holiday season. Donations of new, unwrapped toys will be accepted at various locations and parades across Simcoe County until Dec. 13, 2019.

Over the next week, Paramedics will be collecting donations at the following locations:

Nov. 23, 2019
Angus Santa Claus Parade – 10 a.m.
Elmvale Foodland Collection – 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Wasaga Beach Santa Claus Parade – 5 p.m.

Nov. 24, 2019
Innisfil Santa Claus Parade – 1:30 p.m.
Waubaushene Santa Claus Parade – 1 p.m.

Donations can be made at the County of Simcoe Administration Centre, 1110 Highway 26 in Midhurst between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. and at all County of Simcoe Paramedic Services stations, where outdoor drop boxes are now available (please do not leave monetary donations in drop boxes – only non-perishable food items and new, unwrapped toys).
