The Orillia Public Library (OPL) has successfully concluded the donation drive for their exciting Library of Things collection.

This unique, accessible collection provides patrons with an opportunity to borrow an array of curated items that they may not be able to purchase due to financial reasons, space restrictions, or simple practicality.

“For the second year in a row I am overwhelmed by this community’s generosity,” says library CEO Bessie Sullivan.

She was thrilled by the incredible support that the fundraiser received, which totalled over $14,000 in donations.

New items being considered for the collection include various home supplies and tools, kitchen gadgets, art/craft supplies, electronics, recreational activities, and games. These will be made available for loan to members of the community free of charge.

Have an idea for something you would like to see added to the Library of Things collection? The library would love to hear your suggestions. Please email [email protected] to provide recommendations, feedback or to receive more information.

Even though this annual donation drive has concluded, the library welcomes your donations year-round. Please visit the library’s website or call 705-325-2338 for information on how to donate.
