An event happening Thursday will try to tap into how to make Midland’s downtown more vibrant.
The Economic Development Corporation of North Simcoe (EDCNS), in partnership with Simcoe County, is offering community presentations with Leslie Fournier and Gregg MacLachlan on Thursday at 5 p.m.
Taking place at the Midland Public Library, the event is open to any business that would like to attend.
Prior to the presentations, a small group from the BIA will joining Fournier and McLachlan, two “renowned” local business consultants, for a walkabout tour to "visualize the downtown’s possibilities and opportunities."
The walkabout will be followed by community discussions from 5 to 7 p.m., where attendees will have the opportunity to share insights and ideas with other members of the community.
Fournier and McLachlan are well-known in the community for their expertise in business development and marketing.
“They have helped numerous businesses in the area grow and succeed and are excited to share their knowledge and insights with attendees at the event,” EDCNS wrote in a release.
Fournier is the founder of Streets Alive, which has brought over a dozen exciting projects to the streets of Orilla and helped transform the city into a tourism hot spot. McLachlan, meanwhile, is the founder of WorkCabin, Canada’s premier location for conservation and environmental job postings.
“Together, Leslie and Gregg will be offering ideas for how we can boost curb appeal and marketing here in Midland,” the organization noted.
