Orillia Secondary School graduate Hannah Beddow (Queen’s University BSc’22) is one of 50 finalists across Canada for the McCall MacBain Scholarship, a full graduate scholarship to attend McGill University in Montréal. In March, Hannah will advance to final interviews for the program’s second cohort.

If Hannah is selected as one of only 20 McCall MacBain Scholars, the award will cover her McGill master’s program tuition and fees, plus a living stipend of $2,000 per month for the duration of the program as well as a relocation grant. For a two-year master’s degree, the tuition, fees, and living stipend could be approximately $60-70K. In addition to their studies, McCall MacBain Scholars are given opportunities to connect with mentors and to develop their leadership skills.

Hannah was chosen from a pool of nearly 700 outstanding Canadian applicants following a rigorous application and interview process which considers character, community engagement, leadership potential, and entrepreneurial drive on top of academic strength.

If not selected as a McCall MacBain Scholar, Hannah is eligible for $10,000 finalist award.
