Patrick Fogarty all Smiles thanks to students' campaign (4 photos)

Students in health and vitality class raise $630 for Building Hope campaign; 'It’s a win-win-win,' says teacher

The best way to gain happiness is to give it away. This idea is what sparked the Smile Cookie Campaign in the health and vitality class at Patrick Fogarty Catholic Secondary School.

In this class, students explore personal wellness on many levels including physical, mental, spiritual and emotional.

Through their learning, it was understood that for the many students who struggle with self love and identity, showing love and compassion toward others is the best way to feel good about themselves.

And what better way to spread love and happiness than with a Smile Cookie from Tim Horton’s.

“It’s a win-win-win because the students are buying cookies for each other, which are delicious, the money is all going directly to The Lighthouse Soup Kitchen and Shelter right here in our own community and my students who organized the event feel satisfaction for their efforts,” said teacher Tina Osburn.

Overall, Patrick Fogarty’s Smile Cookie Campaign raised $630 for The Lighthouse/Building Hope campaign. The Tim Horton’s on West and Fittons fulfilled the large order.

The Smile Cookie Campaign is running at local Tim Horton’s until the end of the day tomorrow.
