A pedestrian was killed when he was struck by a CN train Saturday night.
The CN Police are investigating the incident that occurred at about 11 p.m. near Port Stanton Parkway, which is near Bayview Wildwood Resort.
CN Police would not answer specific questions about the incident but provided the following statement:
"Late Saturday night, CN crews responded to an incident involving a CN train and a pedestrian near Port Stanton. Our thoughts are with the individual affected by this incident and their family," said the statement from Alexandre Boulé, senior advisor, media relations and public affairs.
"As the investigation is ongoing, we have no further comment at this time."
OPP Sgt. Jason Folz was able to confirm that a 55-year-old East York man was killed in the incident.
"We are assisting CN Police with their investigation," said Folz.
No other details were released.
