Police investigate serious snowmobile crash in Tiny Township

Investigators are citing speed and driver inexperience as possible contributing factors to this fatal crash

Members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently investigating a serious snowmobile crash in Tiny Township. Officers were dispatched at 5:41 a.m. to a section of the OFSC trail 301 just north of the Tiny Flos Township Townline. The report was that of a single snowmobile and its lone occupant had left the trail and struck a tree.

Investigators are being assisted by members of the OPP Central Region Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Unit (TTCI). No further details are available at this time. Updates will be posted as they become available.

Snowmobilers need to exercise extra caution in this area as investigators may close this section of trail as needed to complete their investigation.
