Pumpkinfest at Hewitts Fun Farm is always popular with local families and school groups.

Pumpkinfest at Hewitts Fun Farm is set to return next week.

Friends and family are encouraged to get together to take the wagon ride out to the pumpkin patch this October at 3331 Town Line, near Warminster.

Pumpkinfest offers nine acres of corn mazes among 25 other farm-themed attractions.

“Come and enjoy our farm,” says owner Trevor Hewitt. “You can take the wagon ride to pick your pumpkin, visit with the farm animals, and try our new mini golf.”

Hewitt says the pumpkin patch is nice and full this year, which isn’t always a guarantee.

“We had the drought that we usually have, but it was early this year,” he said. “A bunch of plants didn’t germinate and spread out like they usually do, but we still have lots of pumpkins.”

Each fall, school groups and daycare groups frequently visit the farm which, Hewitt says, is an educational experience.

“There are more and more kids and adults these days who have never been on a farm,” he said. “It’s pretty cool when you can come out and take something right off the vine and see farm animals up close.”

Educational signs can be found around the farm for people who are interested in learning more about farming and animals.

“It doesn’t matter what age you are; you will probably learn something while you are out here,” Hewitt said.

Hewitt says the farm is the backdrop to many local family photos and memories.

“People love taking pictures in the corn maze or pumpkin patch,” he said. “They love visiting with the animals, and the kids love running around, playing, and having fun on the farm.”

General admission to the Pumpkinfest is $14, or $17 if you package admission with a round of mini golf. The event runs Friday through Monday during October. To purchase tickets, click here.
