NEWS RELEASE
CITY OF ORILLIA
*************************
On Monday, June 1 a portion of the Lightfoot Trail in J.B. Tudhope Memorial Park will be closed for approximately two weeks for trail repair and resurfacing.

As a result, the trail between the Moose Beach washroom building and Portage Bay will be closed to park users. Signs will be posted along the trails warning park users of the construction area.

We ask that park users obey the trail closure signs to allow the contractors to complete the repair and resurfacing as quickly as possible.

The City maintains more than 16 kilometers of paved multi-use asphalt trails. Much like asphalt roadways, the surfacing of trails is required to be repaired and replaced as the infrastructure ages. The project was approved as part of the 2020 budget at $150,000.
