Provincial COVID-19 case count drops to 121 today

174 more cases are now considered resolved since yesterday

The province is reporting 121 new cases of COVID-19 today, bringing the total to 35,656 cases.

This represents an increase of 0.3 per cent since the last report.

Five more people have died since yesterday’s report, bringing the Ontario death count to 2,687.

Of the total number of cases, 31,083 have been resolved. Since the July 3 report, 174 more cases were resolved.

The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit is expected to next update its local numbers on Monday.

As of July 3, the number of COVID-19 cases in Simcoe-Muskoka held steady since the last update prior on July 2.

There was one new case reported on Friday are in New Tecumseth, and one case was moved to another health unit.

There were 602 cases in Simcoe-Muskoka as of Friday. That includes 572 in Simcoe County and 30 in the District of Muskoka.

Of the total local cases, 524 people have recovered from the virus, including 16 since the last update.

Four people remain in hospital being treated for the virus.

Since the health crisis began in March, 36 people have died locally from the coronavirus.
