Rainfall warning in effect for:

  • Orillia - Lagoon City - Washago
  • Barrie - Collingwood - Hillsdale
  • Midland - Coldwater - Orr Lake

Rainfall, combined with melting snow, continues.

Significant rainfall continues until Wednesday morning.

Several rounds of rain will continue today and tonight giving rainfall amounts of 25 to locally 40 mm by Wednesday morning. Since very mild conditions are accompanying the rain, considerable snow melt is anticipated. As a result, localized flooding is likely in low-lying areas.

This wet, record mild spell is attributed to a series of low pressure systems moving along a warm front draped across the lower Great Lakes. A final band of rain is likely along a cold front Wednesday, bringing the rain to an end. However, multi-day rainfall totals in the 30 to 50 mm range are likely in some areas.

If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.

Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.

Fog advisory in effect for:

  • Barrie - Collingwood - Hillsdale
  • Midland - Coldwater - Orr Lake
  • Orillia - Lagoon City - Washago

Near zero visibility in fog is expected or occurring.

Widespread fog is persisting this morning. Visibilitiy will be frequently reduced to less than 800 metres at times. Fog is expected to lift later this morning.

If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.

Fog advisories are issued when near zero visibility in fog are expected or occurring.
