NEWS RELEASE
RAMARA PUBLIC LIBRARY
****************

The Ramara Public Library is doing its part to help the less fortunate this holiday season.

The library will host a holiday food drive from Dec. 1 to 18. It is hard when you can’t provide gifts to your loved ones at this time of year, but not having food to support your family is heartbreaking. Help us help our community by donating items to the library’s Holiday Food Drive. Drop your non-perishable food items, toiletries and grocery gift cards off at either branch of the Ramara Township Public Library. Make a difference and help local Ramara families in need during the holiday season. ’Tis the season to give!

Healthy items to donate:

  • Canned tuna, salmon, chicken or ham

  • Peanut butter, other nut butters, nuts and seeds

  • Brown rice or whole-grain pasta

  • Breakfast cereals — whole grain, hot or cold

  • Beans — canned, baked, kidney

  • Canned vegetables and fruit

  • Unsweetened dried fruit

  • Whole-grain crackers

  • Iron-fortified infant cereal

  • Personal hygiene products

Holiday re-gift fundraiser — Ramara Centre branch

If you have an item that has been sitting around the house and not getting used, please feel free to donate it to the library for our fundraiser. Remember, one person’s junk is another person’s treasure. All funds raised will assist in supporting children and youth programs.

Do you still have to buy that special someone a present? We encourage you to drop by the branch during the month of December to see if you can purchase that perfect gift.

Holiday hours of operation: closed Saturday, Dec. 22 to Wednesday, Dec. 26, and Saturday, Dec. 29 to Tuesday, Jan. 1.
