We heard what the youth of Ramara had to say and have created new opportunities to enjoy in the area!
This school year we have lots of events planned for youth of all ages to come and enjoy with their friends after school, and programs for the young ones and their parents to have fun at as well! With more planned in the future we hope to see the youth of Ramara as well as their friends from surrounding areas.
Wednesday mornings from 10-11:30 a.m. find 1-2-3 Play With Me at the Ramara Centre for kids ages 0-6 with their parent/guardian. This playgroup runs in the gym with a variety of different stations set up so that kids of all ages can enjoy at the same time, including arts and crafts, fun learning like colour sorting and ABCs, creative movement and dancing, and building stations like blocks and toys. Great for kids to enjoy on the chilly mornings coming up, and great for parents to socialize as well!
Once a month, we will host Youth Drop-In nights from 7-10 p.m. at the Ramara Centre for youth ages 11-14. These events are planned completely by the Ramara Youth committee to make sure the things planned are by youth, for youth and represent what the age group will enjoy! There will be a pizza dinner, huge game of glow-in-the-dark Manhunt and a 9-square tournament all for FREE on Nov. 9 from 7 to 10 p.m.
Also by the Ramara Youth Committee are our youth dances held once a month at the Ramara Centre from 7 to 10 p.m. With a popular DJ, great music, a snack bar and prizes it is always a great time for grades 4-8! Dances cost $7 at the door and each snack bar item is $1 – bring your friends!
Ramara Youth Committee is always seeking new members to join our small group of driven young people.
Meetings are held once a month at the Ramara Centre to plan things like our drop-in nights and youth dances to ensure that our events represent what youth in Ramara want to attend.
This is a great opportunity for youth ages 12+ to gain valuable leadership skills and volunteer hours, as well as meet some new friends and gain experience planning awesome events in the area. Have a voice in Ramara and help plan events that you want to see!
