Significant snowfall begins throughout much of southern Ontario

A total of 15 to 20 cm of snow is expected by the time it tapers off to a few flurries Sunday morning

Snowfall warning in effect for:
  • Barrie - Collingwood - Hillsdale
  • Midland - Coldwater - Orr Lake
  • Orillia - Lagoon City - Washago

Snowfall with amounts near 20 cm expected today and tonight.

Snow, at times heavy, is expected to move through the region today and tonight. A total of 15 to 20 cm of snow is expected by the time it tapers off to a few flurries Sunday morning.

Southeasterly winds gusting to 50 km/h will whip up the freshly fallen snow causing low visibilities at times in blowing snow today.

An additional 2 to 5 cm of snow is expected from lake effect flurries on Sunday in some communities.

Rapidly accumulating snow will make travel difficult. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Take frequent breaks and avoid strain when clearing snow.
