Snow squall warning in effect for:
  • Midland - Coldwater - Orr Lake
  • Orillia - Lagoon City - Washago

Snow squalls are expected. Under the snow squall bands, visibilities will be significantly reduced due to the heavy snow combined with blowing snow, and snow will quickly accumulate.

Snow squalls continuing through tonight.

Local snowfall amounts of 10 to 25 cm are possible.

These snow squalls are expected to shift early this evening as the winds become northwesterly. Snow squalls will become more isolated on Thursday morning.

Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common. Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations. Public Safety Canada encourages everyone to make an emergency plan and get an emergency kit with drinking water, food, medicine, a first-aid kit and a flashlight.

Snow squall watch in effect for:

  • Barrie - Collingwood - Hillsdale

Snow squalls may develop tonight.

Flurries will continue today due to gusty westerly winds. Snow squalls with reduced visibility may develop tonight and continue in a few locations into Thursday morning.

Local snowfall amounts of 10 to 20 cm are possible.

Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather. Public Safety Canada encourages everyone to make an emergency plan and get an emergency kit with drinking water, food, medicine, a first-aid kit and a flashlight.

Snow squall watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the formation of bands of snow that could produce intense accumulating snow or near zero visibilities.
