ONTARIO SNOWMOBILE OVAL RACERS
The second Annual 2020 Sparrow Lake Cup Race will roar into Bayview Wildwood Resort Feb. 1-2.
Get ready for spectacular speeds and excitement as some of the most beautiful vintage snowmobiles anywhere race on the ice at the Bayview Wildwood Resort.
These are the same types of snowmobiles that raced on the track as far back as the 1970s. Come out and be amazed by the incredible speeds these ice pilots push their sleds to, on a track made of solid ice.
This is an addictive sport that draws in racers ranging in age from 4 to 65 with speeds that may exceed 150 kilometres per hour.
The Sparrow Lake Cup Championship is sponsored by the Cat Shack in Peterborough and promises to be one of the closest finals of the weekend. This Class will contain the Stock Single Fans, the backbone of the vintage snowmobiles! The 2019 Sparrow Lake Champion is Shelby Risto, so if you feel you are up to it, you will have to pass her.
Bayview Wildwood Resort will also host the Ontario Snowmobile Oval Racers' Ontario Sno Pro Championships, sponsored by Larry’s Small Engines of Orangeville. Racers will be vying for the title of Ontario Champion in the 340 and 440 Classes. These sleds will be the fastest sleds at the track.
All these sleds are covered by the same rules and very closely matched, where the driver is the main difference between machines.
Gates open at 7:30 a.m. and racing begins at 10 a.m. Entry for children 6 and under is free, everyone else is $10. We are also taking donations of canned goods for $2 off your admission.
There is also an opportunity to get down to the pits to get up close and personal with the racing sleds. Racing will be completed around 4 pm.
Bayview Wildwood Resort is located on Sparrow Lake at, 1500 Port Stanton Parkway, Severn Bridge.
