ST. PAUL’S CENTRE
*************************
Retired clinical social worker Brian Adams will be hosting a two-part series on addiction and mental health May 30 and June 6 from 7 to 9 p.m. at St. Paul’s Centre, 62 Peter St. N. in Orillia.

St. Paul’s Centre has a mandate to open the building to the community and to offer opportunities to gather together, to learn from and support each other, in spaces throughout the building.

St. Paul’s Learning Commons members felt there was an urgent need for information on addiction and mental health during these difficult times, and so decided to put this free series together for community members. Adams is a long-time and well-known member of the Orillia community and has been very involved and vocal about mental health and addictions information and treatments.

The format of the series will be informal and geared to those in attendance.

"i am hoping to provide information that will be helpful to those in attendance to understand the range of emotions that can be experienced in response to various stressors, and the difference between what would be considered a normal response versus a response that is indicative of a more significant problem," said Adams.

"I will present my remarks in a way that will address the concerns of those in attendance, whether young persons or adults. I will also present information related to how mental health problems can be effectively treated.”

This series is free to attend, and will be in St. Paul’s lower-level Banquet Hall. To register, please email [email protected] or call 705-326-7351, ext. 5.
