Sunshine Speakers find their voices at club contest

Four local Toastmasters Club victors advance to Area Contest in Barrie

The Sunshine Speakers Toastmasters of Orillia held its semi-annual club speech contest recently.

The contests were for best inspirational speech and best speech evaluator.

The club is proud to announce that the inspirational speech winners are Jean Kenny and Laura Joyce. These two victors will now advance to the Area Contest being held on March 22 in Barrie.

Paige Tupling and Anne Angliss won the club’s best evaluators. They, too, will advance to the Area Contest level to represent us in Barrie.

Toastmasters International is a worldwide non-profit educational organization that empowers individuals to become more effective communicators and leaders. Since 1924, Toastmasters International has helped people from diverse backgrounds become more confident speakers, communicators and leaders.

The Orillia club meets Mondays at 7 p.m. in the Parlour Room of St. James’ Church at the corner of Coldwater Road and Peter Street.
