ORILLIA PROSTATE CANCER AWARENESS GROUP

Orillia Prostate Cancer Awareness Group executive members will share their journeys with prostate cancer next week. 

At the next group meeting, to be held Thursday, Feb. 28, Hans Vanderkley, Bruce Keeling, Joe Kavanagh and John Cook with be talking about their own stories around diagnosis and treatment. 

They will not only share their experience around being diagnosed with cancer, but also how and why they selected the different treatments each received.

As well they will talk about the many side-effects and coping strategies after the treatment and the steps they took to delay the progression or recurrence of the cancer for many years.

The meeting will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 34, located at 215 Mississaga St. E. 

Doors will open at 6.30 p.m. and the speakers will begin making their presentations at 7 p.m. There is no admission fee and everyone is welcome to attend.

Light refreshments will be provided.
