NEWS RELEASE
CITY OF ORILLIA

Technical difficulties with the heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) system in the aquatic centre at the Orillia Recreation Centre have led to an increase in temperature and humidity within the aquatics area. As a result, aquatic programming will be temporarily paused.

Programming includes swimming lessons, leisure swims, open swims, aquatic fitness classes and lane swims. Registered participants will be contacted to notify them of this change. Account credits will be issued to those impacted.

Staff are working on lowering the temperatures to get the aquatics facility open as soon as possible and appreciate everyone’s patience.

The remainder of the Orillia Recreation Centre remains open to regular drop-in and registered programming.

Updates regarding the status of the pool facility will be provided directly to program participants and posted on the city’s social media channels.
