The Farm Gate taps into maple the old-fashioned way

Brechin farm is one of 15 sweet stops on this year's Tap into Maple self-driving route

From today through April 30, it's time to Tap Into Maple and stop into one of 15 stops around Ontario's Lake Country to enjoy the sweet taste of local maple syrup in ways you might not have imagined.

In the coming days, we are partnering with Ontario's Lake Country to give you a glimpse into these sweet stops.

Today, we feature The FarmGate in Brechin, where they have been tapping maple trees since the inception of Tap Into Maple.

The FarmGate taps trees using the traditional bucket method. At The Farmgate they tap approximately 200 trees and boil it down right on the property where anyone can come and visit and see the production up close. The FarmGate is a must-see stop along Tap Into Maple.
