Three bold predictions for WWE SummerSlam

Tonight's event has the potential to be one of the most memorable shows of all time

WWE has put together a star-studded card for tonight’s SummerSlam. Blockbuster matches, with so much on the line, SummerSlam has the potential to be one of the most memorable shows of all time.

Here are three BOLD predictions for the biggest party of the summer;

The Miz defeats Daniel Bryan:

This is a match that has been nearly a decade in the making, and an opportunity for Daniel Bryan to once again overcome a roadblock in his career.

Daniel Bryan was The Miz’s rookie all the way back in the first season of NXT, where the rivalry first sparked into the flames that it is today. Time and time again these two superstars have crossed paths and the hatred between the two seems to go beyond a ‘story line’. With the fans expecting Daniel Bryan to put this rivalry to bed, and defeat the Miz, I believe the Miz is somehow, someway going to pull off the ultimate upset and defeat Daniel Bryan.

Miz picking up the win could also help boost ratings for the reality television show, ‘Miz & Mrs.’ which hasn’t been drawing the numbers WWE had been hoping for.

Ronda Rousey and Alexa Bliss, Main event:

An all-women’s match has never been the main event of a SummerSlam, and there is no better time to make it happen than tonight.

Not only would it be another massive step in the right direction for the Women’s Evolution, but the match between Bliss and Rousey is arguably the most exciting match on the whole card.

Bliss is a five-time WWE Women’s Champion who is at the peak of her career, and to put her against Rousey, a former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion and the most popular superstar in WWE today ... seems like a main event to me. Giving this match the main event would also do WWE good, on helping promote their upcoming solely women’s show, Evolution.

Canadian superstar, Kevin Owens walks out of Summerslam as Universal Champion:

It might seem like a stretch, but Kevin Owens walking out of SummerSlam as Universal Champion might be WWE’s master plan to throw fans the ultimate curveball.

Owens is taking on Braun Strowman for the Money in the Bank briefcase tonight. It was made clear on Raw, that no matter how Owens’ defeats Strowman, whether it’s by count out or disqualification, the brief case will belong to Owens if he is the winner.

Holding Money in the Bank means that you can cash in the briefcase at anytime for a championship match. What better time to cash in, than directly after Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar have battled, in what will likely be a physically brutal match for the Universal Championship.

If I haven’t convinced you on this theory yet, San Antonio’s AT&T centre, the home of the next WWE marquee event ‘Hell in a Cell’, is promoting a match between Kevin Owens and Roman Reigns.

All the action at the 31st annual SummerSlam, gets underway live from Brooklyn, New York, at 7 p.m. on the WWE Network.
