The Township of Ramara received funding from Trans Canada Trail to upgrade the trail off County Road 169 from Fairgrounds Road to Howlyn Pines Trail entrance.

The Trans Canada Trail funding program assists trail operators across Canada to develop and enhance trails with either trail infrastructure and major repairs, signage, trail destination development, diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility and/or Indigenous initiatives.

The Township of Ramara applied to enhance the trail off of County Road 169 in order to improve the trail user experience and increase trail safety.

“We are very pleased to have been approved for this grant from the Trans Canada Trail organization,” said Mayor Basil Clarke. “Our trails committee works very hard each year to determine projects to grow and enhance our trail system to promote outdoor recreation and active transportation.”

The Township of Ramara’s mission is to provide accessible and affordable citizen-centric services to all residents and visitors focused on sustainability, growth, and transformation.
