It’s time to make Kitchener Park sparkle and shine.

That’s the goal of a volunteer initiative next week, spearheaded by Twin Lakes Secondary School student Cheyenne White and the Information Orillia Volunteer Link.

The Volunteer Litter Pick Up Day at the park is slated for Thursday, Aug. 29 from 1 to 4 p.m.

It’s an opportunity for youth to collect community service hours before the fall semester starts. However, it’s open to the entire community.

To cut down on additional waste, volunteers are asked to bring a refillable water bottle. The Water Store in Orillia is providing water; freezies will also be available.

The City of Orillia is providing litter disposal supplies.

“Let’s make Kitchener Park sparkle and shine," say organizers.
