Weekend events help raise $22,000 for Building Hope campaign

Proceeds from home show and donations from Toronto Mass Choir will help build new Lighthouse Community Services Hub

NEWS RELEASE
BUILDING HOPE CAMPAIGN
********************
It was a very busy but successful weekend for the Building Hope campaign. We had two major fundraising events.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday was the 26th annual Simcoe Spring Home and Cottage show organized by Glenn Wagner.

In lieu of admission to the show, guests could donate to the campaign and receive a ballot for the draw prizes valued at $5,000.

We collected $7,550 for the new Lighthouse Community Services Hub.

Building Hope also had a booth in the show in which to promote our public campaign items that donors can purchase to personally put their name on the project to provide for the homeless, hurting and hungry in our community.

The second event was Sunday night at First Baptist Church a third-party fundraising concert by the Juno Award winning Toronto Mass Choir.

Admission was free, but a collection was taken up which totaled $11,305, including a $1,000 donation from radio station, Life 100.3, who promoted the concert and annually sponsors the Coldest Night of the Year event for the Building Hope campaign.

At both events brick pavers for the project were promoted for a legacy walkway at the new property and we sold several bringing our total fundraising on the weekend to approximately $22,000.
