NEWS RELEASE
CONNEXUS CHURCH
*************************
Recognizing some churches avoid talking about mental health, Connexus Church recently launched a series of Sunday services on the topic.
While professional help from counsellors and doctors is important, Pastor Jeff Brodie said many don’t see how the body and soul connect.
Brodie spoke to a full house on Sunday as he kicked off the series titled When You’re Not Okay.
“Not enough people look at the relationship between their spiritual health and their mental health,” he commented.
Having personally struggled with anxiety, Jeff finished the message sitting next to his wife in the crowd to demonstrate that leaders share the same struggles as anyone else. Then he prayed for those in attendance, himself included.
Connexus knows everyone is touched by stress, anxiety, depression, burnout, trauma, addiction, etc., in one way or another. And because they believe God is for you, they believe your church should be, too.
In the coming weeks, Brodie and several others with expertise on these topics will be bringing some practical and thoughtful spiritual help to the conversation on mental health.
Some of these experts include Jason Cusick, author of The Anxiety Field Guide, and Aundi Kolber, author of Try Softer and Strong Like Water. Watch for their interviews on the Connexus Church podcast and YouTube channel.
They are also giving every new guest a free copy of the book Winning the War in Your Mind by bestselling author Craig Groeschel on Sunday, Jan. 15.
