Walk, Run or Wheel for Youth Education

Date: Saturday, May 4, 2019 – 3:30 p.m.

Location: Tudhope Park, 450 Atherley Rd., Orillia

For over 80 years, Orillia Lions have raised money and volunteered their time to support our community with a primary focus of helping the blind and youth.

This year, we are excited to announce our second annual Walk, Run or Wheel for Youth Education fundraiser.

The Walk, Run or Wheel for Youth Education marks the start of Education Week. Funds raised will be used to support youth learning.

Specifically, we will award up to two $1,000 bursaries to Orillia secondary school students who are blind or living with low vision and pursuing post-secondary education at university, college, apprenticeship or other trade program.

This fundraiser will also assist in our continued support of other youth learning, such as the Orillia Youth Centre programs, Teens on Edge programs, the Orillia Library summer reading program, the Lakehead University Humanities 101 program, and supporting local camps for youth with special medical needs.

There is no entrance fee to participate; all we ask is that participants do their best to obtain donations. Participants can register by contacting us at [email protected] to obtain a registration and donation form.

The walking trail is fully accessible, so anyone can participate.

Service animals and leashed or carried pets are welcome.

Participant onsite registration begins at 3 p.m. with the Walk, Run or Wheel starting at 3:30 pm. Participants can opt for 2.5 km for 5 km.
