Five advanced votes are planned ahead of Oct. 22 municipal election

Voting in the 2018 Municipal Election will occur Monday, Oct. 22, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. with five Advance Vote Days scheduled in October to provide all Orillians with an opportunity to cast their vote.

The 2018 Municipal Election is being held for the purpose of electing one Mayor, eight Councillors (two to be elected for each of the four wards), and three School Board Trustees (one elected each for the Simcoe County District School Board, Conseil scolaire Viamonde and Conseil scolaire catholique MonAvenir). The School Board Trustee position for the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board has been acclaimed by Francis B. Smith.

“The 2018 Municipal Election is an important part of the democratic process and we invite all eligible voters to cast their ballot in October,” said Gayle Jackson, Returning Officer. “A variety of Advance Vote opportunities have been provided for the benefit of all citizens including snowbirds, shift workers, out-of-town electors and students.”
