TOWNSHIP OF ORO-MEDONTE

The Township of Oro-Medonte is looking forward to the fastball tournament scheduled for July 20 and July 21 at Vasey Park located at 4851 Vasey Rd. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen travel issues, the Dominican Republic team is unable to participate in the tournament. However, the Owen Sound Select team and the Vasey Countrymen are still very committed to putting on a great community event showcasing local and regional fastball talent.

In addition to a Homerun Derby, the Minesing Mallards have also been added to the schedule, increasing the entertainment factor for the tournament. The local contingent will be represented by players from Vasey and across the County of Simcoe, including the Townships of Oro-Medonte, Severn, Springwater, Rama, Tay and Tiny, as well as the City of Barrie and City of Orillia.

First pitch Friday night is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. An opening ceremony will follow the first game and the second game is scheduled for 8:45 p.m. The three teams will face off again on Saturday, July 21 with the first game of the day schedule for 9:30 a.m., and the Homerun Derby scheduled for 3:30 p.m.

The Township encourages people to attend the tournament to experience great local and regional fastball. Plan to enjoy a BBQ and bake sale hosted by Vasey Minor Ball and the Vasey United Church, which will support local grassroots community organizations’ fundraising efforts. Daily Admission to the event is $5 per adult or $10 per vehicle.
