Barrie Colts forward Jacob Frasca scored the overtime winner in Game 3, Tuesday night, against the North Bay Battalion.

The Barrie Colts and North Bay Battalion needed overtime for the second time in three games and on Tuesday night it was Jacob Frasca who grabbed the spotlight for the home team at Sadlon Arena in Ontario Hockey League playoff action.

Just three minutes into extra time, Barrie's Tyler Savard had the puck near the corner and fed a wide-open Frasca in front of the Battalion net.

The Caledon native made no mistake, burying the puck for not only a 2-1 win in Game 3 but also a 2-1 series lead in the best-of-seven, second-round match-up.

It was Frasca's fifth goal of the playoffs. Declan McDonnell had the second assist on the goal.

The Colts outshot the Battalion by almost a two-to-one margin, 35-18.

Game 4 of the series is set for Thursday night back at Sadlon Arena.

Following a scoreless opening period, the Battalion jumped on the scoreboard first, with defenceman Ty Nelson potting his fourth of the playoffs five minutes into the second period with a wrist shot from the high slot. Edmonton Oilers prospect Matvey Petrov, with his league-leading 13th assist, and Kyle McDonald picked up the helpers.

The Colts responded seven minutes later on a Tai York marker, his third goal of the playoffs. Brandt Clarke and Cole Beaudoin assisted.

The two teams traded chances in the third period, but it would solve nothing and overtime was needed, finished off by Frasca's heroics.

Barrie goalie Anson Thornton stopped 17 of 18 shots, while North Bay's Dom DiVincentiis turned aside 33 of 35 shots at the other end.

The announced attendance was 3,187.

Puck drop for Game 4 is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Click here for ticket information at Sadlon Arena.
