Cheer Sport Sharks Orillia is proud to announce they are ready to open the doors to their new cheerleading gym!

Located at 25 James St. W., Unit 3, the new gym dubbed “The Dock” proudly features a spring floor locally sponsored by Spieth Anderson, a warmup/cool down area and their own ever-growing pro shop.

Additionally, the gym has been able to fundraise throughout the pandemic for much needed equipment and start-up materials thanks to the overwhelming support of team parents, and families who stepped up by selling Kernels Popcorn, taking part in Boston Pizza Night, and by being consistent contributors of FlipGive campaign.

This opening has been a long process as the provincial COVID-19 measures at times have required that all programming be moved online. Athletes have been participating via Zoom in a variety of training classes, and team practices. This has allowed them to keep focused, stay connected, and build skills even while at home.

While COVID-19 and protocol adherence has most certainly shaped their year, Cheer Sport Sharks Orillia remains strong in the belief that not even a pandemic can stop their spirit and love for cheer.

Their goal of attending a virtual-based Nationals later this spring is a shining aspiration for everyone.

Going forward, Cheer Sport Sharks Orillia hopes to expand their opportunities and outreach within the community by offering camps, recreational cheerleading, fitness classes for parents, private lessons and extensive skill-based training. This is in addition to the Prep level and All-star teams already being developed for next season!

As a growing gym, fostered in a supportive environment Cheer Sport Sharks Orillia is always looking to welcome new athletes to join the “shark side” ages 5-17 are welcome and no prior experience is necessary.
