Kodiaks tame OSS Nighthawks in playoff football action (5 photos)

Loss marks the end of the season for Orillia

Four high-school football teams battled in Barrie on Tuesday for the chance to keep their seasons alive.

In the quarter-finals of the Simcoe County Athletic Association (SCAA) senior football loop, the Bear Creek Kodiaks downed the Orillia Nighthawks, 28-6.

Meanwhile, over at Innisdale Secondary School, the second half was a nail-biter, but the Collingwood Fighting Owls eked out the victory with a last-second rouge to defeat the Invaders, 14-13.

The Kodiaks will now face the Eastview Wildcats on Friday at 11:30 a.m. at J.C. Massie Field at Georgian College in one SCAA semifinal, while the Barrie North Vikings will take on Collingwood in the other.

The SCAA final is set for Friday, Nov. 8 at 3 p.m., also at the college's turf field.

The winner of the SCAA title game will then face the champions from the Catholic School Athletics of Simcoe County (CSASC).
