Strong Orillia team went undefeated at GTA event to win gold

The Pilger Equipment Sales U11 Girls competed in the Markham Unionville Minor Basketball Tournament this past weekend and brought home the gold medal!

The girls started strong with a convincing win over Toronto Triple Threat by a score of 45-13. The top scorers in this game were Emma Dongelmans with 13 points, Ali Rolston with 10 and Sienna McParland and Ryan Lazier each adding another eight.

In their second game, the Lakers once again dominated, winning by a score of 44-13 over the Caledon Cougars. Top scorers were Emma Dongelmans with 10 points and Lily Balaisis and Emma Pilger adding eight each.

This win guaranteed the Lakers a spot in the gold-medal game against a tough London 86ers team. 

The Lakers had to play hard for the entire game and held off a last-minute push by the 86ers to win 38-31. The top scorers were Emma Dongelmans with 14 points, Ali Rolston with 10 and Sienna McParland adding another six. 

The girls played hard and with heart this weekend earning a well-deserved gold medal.
