Lawnbowling club donates $1,000 to Parkinson's (9 photos)

The local club hosted its last fun tournament of the year this week, following a successful charity breakfast to aid research into Parkinson's

The last fun tournament of the year was held on Sept. 7 at the Orillia Lawnbowling Club, sponsored by Co-operators Insurance. Representatives
Mitchell Shaw and Michael McLaughlin were on hand to present the prizes and try their hand at lawnbowling.

A fun time was had by all, with the overall winners being the team of Barry Holloway and Jim Hoover.

The final Open Tournament of the year is on Sept. 10, sponsored by Mr. Appliance - Orillia.

Other events involving Club members include, Greg Irvine winning the district novice singles title! Greg will now compete in the provincial championships.

Also, the team of Robb Barsevich, Brian Minns and Barry Holloway placed third in the district senior men’s event.

In August, the club hosted a highly successful charity breakfast, with the proceeds, in excess of $1,000, going to Parkinson’s research.
