Local lawn bowlers compete in Open Triples tournament (4 photos)

Final 'fun' event of the year attracted 24 lawn bowlers to club facility on Commerce Road

The fourth and final fun tournament of the year was an Open Triples event held at the Orillia Lawn Bowling Club on Wednesday.

Twenty-four club bowlers took part, vying for prize money and the gift of some equipment bags provided by the sponsor, Leah Cavannah of Century 21 Real Estate.

The winning team featured skip Lynn Smith, Gord Murphy and Barry Holloday.

Second place went to Ross Gilmore’s team of Jane Barlow and Judi Johnson.

Third-place winners were skip Candace Teetzel’s team of Joy Freeman and Sue O’Neill.

Fourth place went to skip Dawn Lyell’s team of Bonnie Fogarty and Gary Tirtevenian.

Fifth place went to Sue Bassett’s team of Carole Francey and Mike Firth.

The final tournament of the year, an Open Pairs event sponsored by Casino Rama will be held this Saturday at the Commerce Road facility.
