Local lawn bowlers shine at first fun tourney of the season

The club, while observing COVID protocols, is back in full swing with bowling on the green five days a week

The first fun tournament of the season was held on Aug. 4 at the Orillia Lawn Bowling Club. The event was sponsored by Leah Cavanaugh of Century 21 Real Estate.

Some new bowlers from the club’s recent Open House participated in the event that featured three six-end games of challenging variations to add to the fun.

The winning team was skipped by Rob Barsevich, who received his prize by Lean Cavanaugh, who was on hand to congratulate the winners. Other winning skips were Ross Gilmore (second place), Barry Holloway (third place) and Harold Graham (fourth place).

The drawmaster for the event was Rick Swinton.

The club, located on Commerce Road, is in full swing with bowling five days a week, all while observing necessary COVID protocols.
