Local lawn bowling club offering free lessons for newcomers

Club invites people of all ages to give the sport a try; Membership meeting slated for May 8

Another season of fun and competitive lawn bowling is about to start at the Orillia Lawn Bowling Club, located next to the firehall on Commerce Road.

Anyone interested in joining can attend the membership meeting scheduled for May 8 at the clubhouse at 6:30 p.m.

For those wanting to try the sport before committing to join, there are free lessons scheduled for three weeks, on Wednesdays, starting May 22 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., and Sundays from 2 to 4 p.m., starting May 26.

Register with Orillia Parks & Recrearion Department or using the club’s email:  The only equipment needed is flat shoes!

Regular scheduled bowling occurs weekly as well as fun and competitive tournaments!

Two open houses are planned for June and a yard sale is planned for May 25.
