The Orillia Lawnbowling Club hosted its In-House Lawnbowling Tournament earlier this week.

Ross Gilmore and Harold Graham captured first place at the event, while Alf Bard and Paul Evans finished in second place. Third place went to Dawn Lyell and Greg Irvine, while Craig Walker and Candace Teetzel bowled to a fourth-place finish.

The Orillia Lawnbowling Club is a friendly, non-profit club situated on Commerce Drive beside the Orillia Fire Department’s Station 2.

The club encourages newcomers and visitors. Earlier this year, lessons were offered through Orillia Parks and Recreation and members also hosted an Open House event to provide people a chance to try the unique game.

Each week, there is open draw bowling: On Monday nights and Friday mornings. The next open tournament is scheduled for Aug. 16, with both local and out-of-town teams participating.
