The Northstar Marine Insurance Major Atom Boys took home divisional gold last weekend in Ontario Cup play in London.

The boys dominated in round-robin play, overtaking the South Muskoka Beakers and winning their first game by nearly 30 points. They then went on to defeat the North Region Crazy Catz 53 to 31.

In the semi-final game, they faced Peterborough Power and won by a convincing 20 points, earning them a spot in the championship game.

There, the Lakers faced the Crazy Catz once again. This time, it was a much closer game, but the Lakers came out on top with a final score of 65-60, claiming the gold medal in their division. The Lakers' outstanding defence and willingness to share the ball made the win a true team effort.

The coaches would like to congratulate the team on their hard work. They would also like to thank the parents and families who supported the boys over the season and acknowledge the team mascot, Finn, who kept the boys motivated and entertained fans in the stands.
