MARIPOSA WRESTLING

On Feb. 2, the Mariposa Wrestling Team competed at the Ontario Cadet and Juvenile Provincial Championships at the CAA Centre in Brampton.
The Cadet Males led the way with Logan Smith capturing gold, Jack Scott and Domenik Ritchie silver, Duncan Blake and Carson Bussieres bronze. The boys' stellar results earned Mariposa the Cadet Male Provincial Champion title.
All Mariposa wrestlers showed impressive results and personal bests. The Smith sisters, Leigha and Lauren brought home Provincial Gold medals.
Sophie Lehay, Zarah Yglesias and Rain Steele finished fourth, and Ian Stirling finished sixth, while Ben March, Liam Warboys, Cashius Aitken, Keith Scott and Sam Cordery did not place in the top 6 all wrestled strong and tough.
