The Jim Wilson minor peewee Orillia Terriers competed against the East Gwillimbury Eagles in the second round of the York Simcoe Hockey Association playoffs.

In Game 1, Orillia struggled early on, but were flying by the middle of the second. Orillia jumped out to a lead when Cohen Robitaille, with assists to Ethan Telford and Devin Fisher, scored in the middle of the first. East Gwillimbury scored late in the period to tie after one period of play. In the second period, Orillia’s Bennett Mackey and Tommy Goard scored to put Orillia in the driver’s seat and they didn’t look back. Third-period goals from Connor Varley, Marcus Petroff and Robitaille sealed the victory, 6-1.  Orillia’s other assists in the game went to Goard, Mackey, Petroff, Varley and Hunter McLaughlin. Connor Sampson was in net for the win.

Orillia traveled to East Gwillimbury the next night for Game 2. The game was scoreless until the second period when Fisher opened the scoring for the Terriers. The game became a bit chippy in the third period, which gave the Terriers multiple power plays. The visitors scored four unanswered goals down the stretch. Goal scorers were Cameron Weishar, Varley with two and Robitaille. Assists in the game went to McLaughlin (2), Jordan Blunt, Fisher and Robitaille. Sampson held down the fort, securing the shutout and win for the Terriers.

In Game 3, Orillia went up 3-1 after the first and put their foot on the gas as they won 9-1. Goard registered a hat-trick, while Mackey scored twice. Single goals went to Telford, Varley, Petroff and McLaughlin.  Assists went to Chase Beiers, Lukas Hagman, Telford, Petroff (3), McLaughlin, Mackey (2), Nathan Healy (3) and Robitaille with a pair. Sampson again backstopped the win.

Orillia will take on the Markham Waxers in the next round of the York-Simcoe playoffs.
