The Orillia Channel Cats Swim Club hosted the Muskrats Splash Meet #2 for swimmers in Jr. Novice and above. This meet gives swimmers who are newer to the sport the opportunity to compete and gain race experience.

“Our swimmers did great, a lot were at their first competition and stepped up to the challenge,” says Cats coach Tatum Haslem.

For swimmers who have been to several competitions, these meets provide an opportunity to race new events.

“We had a couple of swimmers try a 400 Individual Medley for the first time, and in the past 800-metre freestyle,” said head coach Meredith Thompson-Edwards.

Swimmers in attendance included: Owen Kennedy, Sophie Stegenga, Elle Waite, Eve Cosco, Anna Holton, Joseph Holton, Sophie Brown, Evan Wagner, Logan Black, Jyllian Jenkins, Nadine Ackert, Catherine Shaw, Aiden Lewis, Ezrie Burke, Zach Sternberg, Lilianna Pilon, Charlotte Fear, Maelle Bouchard, Larissa Cooke, Evangeline Cooke, Gabe Van Dam, Brynn Munday, Travis Lalonde, Sloane Trainor, Reid Watson, Ella Cansino, Zach Moczkodan.

Three Channel Cats are getting ready for Provincial Winter Festivals this weekend in Etobicoke.

Ariel McGee, Mathieu Rainville and Indiana Abram will be competing against the top 13-and-under swimmers from all over Ontario.
