Orillia KIA roars to win over rivals in heated Lady Kings action

The cool weather conditions did not hinder action on Monday night as Orillia Lady Kings house league action heated up with plenty of great action at all levels.

Starting off the evening, McGregor on the Water earned a convincing 6-0 victory over Dr. Hillson Eye Care Orillia. Scoring in the win were Ava Martin-Her Leighton Mainer, Hannah Shaw, Leah Lynch, Pyper McDonald and Sydney Weir.

Orillia KIA would also have a six-goal output, racing to a 6-1 victory over Champlain Ready Mix. Alexandra Fagan paced the auto dealers with a hat trick while Abigail Catterall, Ryley Crowther and Kyah Thompson added singles. Lucy Law was the lone goal getter in a losing cause.

In U11 action, Freeman AutoSource got two-goal efforts from Ava Wara and Anna Fagan while Emersyn McLaughlin and Allyson McMullen chipped in with singles in their 6-0 shutout victory over Kutting Edge Promotions Inc. 

Continuing on with six-goal victories, Mariposa Landscaping scored six themselves in a 6-4 win over Northern Elite Lacrosse. Ellie Lynch and Morgan Parnell paced their team with two-goal efforts and Samantha Harper and Kaelyn McDonald scored goals as well aiding Annabella Watson-Baker earn the win in net. Molly Bergeron also chipped in a two-goal effort for her team in the loss and Tessa Patterson and Lily Robbins found the net in the loss.    

U13/U15 Houseleague play picked up the scoring as Orillia Power defeated TD Canada Trust by a 7-5 margin. Claire Kudar (2G), Willow Davidson (2G), Gracie Morrison (2G) and Danika Tindale (1G) paced the victors while Hailey Decock (2G), Melanie Decock (1G, 3A), Izabella Marino (2G) replied for the bankers.

West Street Storage outlasted BMG Glass & Aluminum by a narrow 8-7 margin as Alicia Murphy (3G), Grace Silverthorn (3G), Emma Dixon (1G) and Ella-Gen Finch (1G) helped Isabella Machhia gain the win in net. Paige Paddon (2G), Grace McLelland (2G), Alyssa Borland (1G), Ashleigh Hester (1G) and Montana Kelly (1G) made the scoresheet as well.

U13/U15 Competitive games would see a pair of “sister kissers” as both games would end up in ties. Game one would see Peak Engineering and Meridian Credit Union play to a 8-8 tie.

Goal getters for Peak Engineering were Anna Lajoie (3G), Ryin Davidson (2G), Makenna Maracle (2G) and Jadyn Maracle adding one goal. Credit Union point getters were Karley Eckstein (3G), Bathany Marchant (2G), Eleanor Waite (2G) and Mayson Parnell withd a single marker.

The other and final match of the evening would see TJS Sheet Metal and Bradley Homes play to a 7-7 draw. TJS point getters were Emma Marwick (3G), Melanie Smith (2G) and singles from Catherine Varley and Katie Wilson. The home builders would see Riley Marwick (2G), Sydney Shawyer (2G), Sofia Ceccanese (1G), Emma Donglemans (1G) and Alison Rolston round out the evening's games statistics.

Action resume next Monday at West Orillia Sports Complex.
