At the end of the 2018 season, Jim Meredith had fulfilled his three-year commitment to the Orillia Jr. B Kings lacrosse team.

As a result the team has appointed Orillia’s Rob McDonald as the Kings' new head coach for the 2019 season.

Rob has worked his way up through the Orillia Minor Lacrosse Association as a player and coach. His coaching career started out with the house league program coaching in the tyke division up through the bantam age group.

From there he graduated to the rep program, where he was the head coach of the Orillia bantam rep program for two years from 2015 to 2016. He then moved up to become head coach last year of the Orillia midget Kings.

On top of that, McDonald has been an assistant coach for the Orillia Jr. B Kings on two separate occasions. He was involved during the 2013 and 2014 seasons then again last year, where he worked under Jim Meredith for the 2018 season.

McDonald brings his experience and upbeat enthusiasm from both minor and junior to this year’s team; he has coached most of the kids in the past.

Kings president Joel Campbell and GM Rob Blasdell, who is returning for another year, are excited to welcome McDonald aboard as the new head coach of the 2019 Orillia Jr. B Kings lacrosse team.

The team is also looking for a couple of full-time trainers for the 2019 season. Anyone who is interested can contact Joel Campbell at 705-834-0566.
