Orillia Lawn Bowling Club members roll into new season (7 photos)

Club hosted its first fun tournament of the season and unveiled some new upgrades and its new gazebo at event

The Orillia Lawn Bowling Club hosted its first Fun Tournament of 2022 on June 22, sponsored by Orillia Home Hardware. There were three, six-end games of competitive bowling with some fun events also included!

The winning team was skipped by Greg Irvine, with Sandy Furzecott.

In collaboration with a Patrick Fogarty Catholic Secondary School program, the club was delighted to see the new timber gazebo completed. The students built the gazebo on the school grounds and moved it to the club on Commerce Road over the past two years. The club raised the funds to pay for the gazebo and members assisted in the staining and preparation of the timbers.

The Orillia Lawn Bowling Club wishes to thank the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Program for funding the green backboard repairs, roofing for the gazebo and utility shed as well as the installation of new fencing and gates which gives us much easier access, safety and security for our club, its senior members and the community at large.

The next Fun Tournament is on Canada Day, July 1, sponsored by Fran Woodhurst Painting. It will be followed by a barbecue to celebrate 40 years at the Commerce Road location.
