There is lots of activity going on at the Orillia Lawn Bowling Club at its Commerce Road location.

After having to cancel bowling last year, the club is hoping to have as full a schedule as possible this summer, following the necessary pandemic protocols to ensure the safety of its members and the community.

Being very optimistic, a participACTION  Open House is planned for June 5. Everyone is welcome to come out and experience this friendly, yet competitive sport.

Many improvements have been taking place at the site to make it safe, healthy and user-friendly, especially for those with disabilities.

A New Horizons for Seniors grant has provided the club with new and better lighting, smaller bowls and delivery devices, clubhouse upgrades etc.

The club has also established a wonderful relationship with Patrick Fogarty Catholic Secondary School and its skilled trades program. Last year students refurbished outdoor benches and this year will be constructing a gazebo using funds raised by the club.

The bowling green should be in great shape this year, as it was maintained throughout 2020 by a dedicated group of volunteers!

More details will follow based on the state of the pandemic. For more information visit their website or Facebook Page.
