Orillia water skier in Chile for world championships

Bob Wink to compete Saturday as part of Team Canada

Orillia water skier Bob Wink is in Santiago, Chile, competing in the International Waterski and Wakeboard Federation’s World Over-35 Waterski Championships.

Wink is part of the Canadian national team.

He qualified eighth in the preliminary rounds of slalom and will compete in the finals on Saturday, Dec. 1.

Team Canada has sent 10 water skiers from across the country to compete in slalom, trick and jump.

Twenty-nine countries are in Chile to compete.

This follows on the heels of Wink's three gold medals at the World Rowing Masters Regatta in Sarasota, Fla., in early October.
