Pair of local golfers record aces at Hawk Ridge Golf Club

Rhonda Montgomery and Spencer Shropshire each recorded their first holes at the Orillia golf course

A pair of local golfers made some personal history since the Hawk Ridge Golf Club opened for their 2020 season.

On Saturday, May 23, a day after opening, the first hole in one of the season was recorded.

Rhonda Montgomery, on the fifth hole of the Hawk's Island course, made her first ace! Golfing with her husband Mike and friends Mike McCahon and Heidi Mueller, Montgomery hit a pitching wedge to the 105-yard island green.

Rhonda and Mike had their wedding pictures taken at that hole just two years ago, so this was a special memory for sure!

Hawk Ridge Junior Member Spencer Shropshire also scored his first career hole-in-one on June 3. At the age of 12, Spencer is the youngest player to record a hole-in-one in the past few years at Hawk Ridge.

Spencer hit a gap wedge to the 81-yard first hole on the Hawk's Island course. The youth's first ace was witnessed by Lucas Lynch.
