Pair of long-time golfers record aces at Hawk Ridge

Feat was pulled off on different days by golfers who have been playing the game for several decades

Rick Bowers scored his first hole-in-one on Tuesday, Sept. 17 at Hawk Ridge Golf and Country Club. 

A pair of long-time avid golfers recorded aces recently.

Seventy-five-year-old Ajax resident Rick Bowers scored his first hole-in-one on Tuesday, Sept. 17. 

During his annual fall outing at Hawk Ridge Golf and Country Club, he aced the 79-yard 14th hole on the Timber Ridge course. Bowers hit a pitching wedge perfectly. The shot was witnessed by playing partners Ron Grey, Kurt Fuerstake and Ken Sliter.

After 44 years in the game, John Milankov of Oro-Medonte scored his first lifetime ace on Sunday, Aug. 25. 

MIlankov hit the shot of the day on the 132-yard sixth hole of the Meadow Nest course at Hawk Ridge with an 8 iron. The shot was witnessed by Wanda Milankov, Doreen Gravelle and Rod Billett.
