Hockey, generally, has a number of ups and downs throughout the season. The 2020-2021 season has been no exception.

However, the love for the game of hockey and dedication to improvement could not be stopped even during a pandemic. During the lockdown from mid-January to mid-February, Orillia Minor Hockey posed a Shoot Out Challenge and many of the players in the organization took up the call.

Teams were asked to take and track as many shots as possible over a four-week period. Goalies facing shots were also included in the challenge.

There was plenty of action and prizes for those who participated. The top team score came from the U9 Terriers, which finished the challenge with a total of 14,839 shots from nine players.

The top individual score went to Tyson Willison, who fired 6,923 shots in the four-week period.

The Orillia Minor Hockey Association would like to sincerely thank all the dedicated coaches, trainers and managers that continued to provide positive experiences for our youth during this unique season.

We are all hoping see everyone again for hockey come September.
